An amazing and nuanced piece in The Deep Magazine titled The Rock in a Hard Place. Relatable and relevant to the Nova Scotia situation.
So what can we do to make Newfoundland and Labrador work? For a province so profoundly self-obsessed, we rarely have much public “real talk” about the challenges and struggles of living here. So The Deep assembled a group of smart and interesting young Newfoundlanders whom I knew would pull no punches in tackling the question: should we stay, or should we go?
A discussion type round table where different perspectives of Newfoundland’s millennial adults offer their histories, perceptions and thoughts about the challenges and possibilities in a province dominated by rural populations and ways of life, and in decline.
Definitely worth the read.
